“An inference of this tactic was that there were no non- Catholic groups opposing abortion. The fact that other Christian as well as non-Christian religions were (and still are) monolithically opposed to abortion was constantly suppressed, along with pro-life atheists’ opinions.” The current regurgitation of the Catholic card was printed in The Washington Post, April 30, 2007. Geoffrey R. Stone, provost of the University of Chicago’s law school is quoted as saying “What then explains this decision? Here is a painfully awkward observation: All five justices in the majority in Gonzales are Catholic. The four justices who are either Protestant or Jewish all voted in accord with settled precedent. It is mortifying to have to point this out.” Here’s something really mortifying, Mr. Stone, for you at least. Your entire argument is an admitted propaganda tactic which a NARAL founder who created and promulgated it admits was designed to appeal to religious intolerance.
