Jack the Ripper taunts London police, and writes of murdering at least 15 girls before killing himself to “cheat the scaffold.” The symbolism is entirely masonic: the skull and cross bones, the coffin, the skeleton. In demonic invocations, human bones, along with using chants, rituals, spells, et cetera, used to summon spirits.
