By 2013, we would find out about a great national security threat, a secret that had to be protected at all costs: every American, every Englishman, every New Zealander, every Australian and every Canadian was considered a potential terrorist and would require constant surveillance. Snowden NSA files also reveal FOX News alliance in phone hacking scandal.
We know for a fact from the Snowden NSA disclosures that JTRIG (Joint Threat Research and Intelligence Group) and GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters) were using the national media in psychological operations as well as tapping every cell phone in England. We know for a fact that any ruling party has access to that data, and that for that data to be useful in psychological operations it must be shared with media assets. One such asset is right-wing media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
To think Rupert Murdoch didn't get help from the "Five Eyes" international surveillance network in the phone hacking scandal that hit Britain in 2011 appears naive in the post-Snowden era, but it would explain a great deal, because let’s face it: the cover story that some slack-jawed, sensationalist reporters from a gossip rag were so technologically gifted they were able to hack into the phones of anyone they wanted, up to and including the royal family, is absurd.
We know now, thanks to Snowden, that an unchecked surveillance state that allowed such abuses not only could exist on a global level but that it absolutely did.
We know now that the emails, texts, phone calls of all citizens, collected in bulk, was available for any third party to cull.
We can choose to believe some reporter at the News of the World was clever enough to obtain all the data you could only get from the Five Eyes at a moments notice, or that the Murdoch media empire had access to that data from Tory cronies in Britain's spy network for an ongoing PSYOPS campaign, WHICH IS A FACT.
Murdoch was also investigated in the United States for phone hacking, but here it was hushed up. By that time Murdoch had shuttered his sacrificial lamb, The Sun, as official investigations came close to uncovering the connection between his media empire and the Five Eyes. In the US, no doubt "National Security" secrets were likely used as an excuse to curtail any significant investigations for the very same reason.
Greatest National Security Threat Revealed: It Is You
By 2013, we would find out about that great national security threat, that secret that had to be protected at all costs: every American, every Englishman, every New Zealander, every Australian and every Canadian was considered a potential terrorist and would require constant surveillance. The initial reaction from the mainstream media was an incalculable outrage, not gratitude, because it exposed their own role-- concealment and long-term deception and trauma-based behavioral modification-- in the surveillance state. That is mind control, by the way; when someone can dictate your actions, and control your moods, without your knowledge.
"[Bush and Cheney], they’re watching him and will be for years. [Al Franken’s] finished, and he’s going to be sorry he ever took FOX NEWS CHANNEL on." By "they're" O'Reilly means the NSA.
Across the pond, let's have a look at Murdoch's most powerful property, the FOX News Channel in the land of an economic Nero, where under an administration that glorified torture media ethics was a laughable proposition and anything was possible...
Confirmation from FNC Host Bill O'Reilly
"If you cross FOX NEWS CHANNEL, it’s not just me, it’s [FOX President] Roger Ailes who will go after you. I’m the street guy out front making loud noises about the issues, but Ailes operates behind the scenes, strategizes and makes things happen so that one day BAM! The person gets what’s coming to them but never sees it coming. Look at [Sen.] Al Franken, one day he’s going to get a knock on his door and life as he’s known it will change forever. That day will happen, trust me.
"During the course of this conversation, Defendant BILL O’REILLY bizarrely rambled further about Al Franken: "Ailes knows very powerful people and this goes all the way to the top." Plaintiff queried: "To the top of what?" Defendant responded: "Top of the country. Just look at who’s on the cover of his book [Bush and Cheney], they’re watching him and will be for years. [Sen. Al Franken’s] finished, and he’s going to be sorry he ever took FOX NEWS CHANNEL on."
By "they're watching him," O'Reilly isn't just talking about Bush and Cheney outside Franken's home with binoculars and hand lotion; it's a reference to a high-level spy network.
Here, O'Reilly unwittingly admits that the Bush Administration and FOX News Channel work so closely together that spy agencies of the federal government were at the disposal of a media mogul. The knock on the door is a reference to the CIA rendition program, where "terrorist" suspects would be kidnapped and taken to black sites around the world. They would then be tortured and held, indefinitely, without charge because that's part of bringing freedom and democracy to the world. At least, so say the neocons and neoliberals. This abduction was wishful thinking on O'Reilly's part, but it was most assuredly happening, and his obsession seems more of a crush on Sen. Franken than not.
As it turns out, O'Reilly was rambling and ranting, as is his wont, but was very much out of character in that he told the truth. Sen. Franken was, indeed, being watched. In fact, the entire Senate was watched, particularly during the Senate's torture investigation involving the CIA during the Bush years.
