Short answer: we never fucking went. Let's try another multi-part question and pose it to NASA. "Did we land on the moon, and if so, how did they survive the Van Allen Belt, which has geo-magnetic storms so powerful the Hubble Telescope has to shut off its electronics or they would get fried? How would they survive the Van Allen radiation levels in an unprotected capsule, with rems so high they would be 100% fatal after 7 days?" Here is how NASA will answer it. It's a classic diversion. They will say something that sounds like this: "Yes, that radiation belt does affect our space travel but the Apollo astronauts went through it so fast it had little or no effect"
