A gobsmacking new Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) report circulating in the Kremlin today noting Communist Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shruang having said less than a year ago: “With relations between China and Kyrgyzstan at the historical best, China is ready to deepen cooperation with the Central Asian country for more benefits to both peoples”, says this cheerful assessment has now been radically altered as evidenced by three main headlines over the past 48-hours that state: “Kyrgyzstan Goes To Polls Amid Vote-Buying Allegations”—“As Dawn Breaks In Kyrgyzstan, Parliament Is Burning, Protesters Control Government Buildings, Political Prisoners Are Freed”—and “Kyrgyzstan’s Election Commission Recognizes Parliamentary Elections Invalid”—the most critically important of which Communist China should have paid attention to being the first, as it contained this warning sentence: “The campaign has been marred by allegations of vote-buying, and an August opinion poll ordered by the US-backed International Republican Institute showed that 15 percent of respondents favoured the idea of voting against all parties”.
